Frequently Asked Questions
About ADHD Coaching
-
ADHD coaching is a personalized, solution-focused approach to help individuals with ADHD (or ADHD tendencies) build strategies for managing challenges, improving executive function, and creating forward momentum in life. It’s not therapy or counseling. It’s about developing practical, actionable steps to help you thrive.
-
Therapy often explores past experiences, emotions, and mental health challenges, while coaching focuses on the present and future. Coaching helps you develop strategies, habits, and tools to move forward effectively. If you’re unsure which is right for you, let’s chat!
-
No! I work with anyone who struggles with forward motion, whether you have a formal ADHD diagnosis or just find that organization, focus, and executive function are areas of difficulty.
Who I Work With
-
I work with both adults and adolescents. Many of my teen clients are navigating school challenges, executive function struggles, and preparing for life after high school. If you’re a parent looking for support for your child, I can help guide both of you toward solutions.
-
Parenting a child with ADHD (or learning differences) often feels overwhelming. Coaching helps you:
Understand ADHD and how it affects your child’s daily life
Create systems and strategies that actually work for your family
Reduce power struggles and improve communication
Feel less frustrated and more confident as a parent
-
Absolutely! Adolescents with ADHD, or focus issues, often struggle with time management, organization, study skills, and independence, all of which are critical for success in college or the workforce. Coaching helps them build these skills in a way that works for their unique brain.
What to Expect from Coaching
-
Coaching sessions are typically virtual (via Zoom) and last 50 minutes. In each session, we’ll discuss your challenges, work on strategies that fit your life, and create an actionable plan to keep moving forward.
-
It takes time to develop new habits, so clients meet weekly for the first three months of coaching. After that initial three month period clients can choose to move to a maintenance schedule as they gain confidence in their strategies.
-
The complimentary 30-minute consultation is a no-pressure chat where we:
Discuss your goals and challenges
Explore whether coaching is the right fit for you
Answer any questions you have about the process
