It’s Been Awhile…

Hey there,

You might be wondering where I went. That’s a fair question.

When I soft-launched Struggle Bus Coaching, LLC in August 2024, I knew I was a good life coach. I’d spent several years helping people see themselves and their situations from new perspectives, guiding them toward their goals, and cheering them on as they took steps forward. But as I started working more with ADHD clients, I realized I was missing something. I could help with motivation, accountability, and problem-solving, but I didn’t have the deep understanding of ADHD itself that I knew could make an even bigger impact.

So, I hit pause—not on coaching, but on outwardly moving forward without the knowledge my clients deserved. Over the past six months, I’ve been learning, growing, and fine-tuning Struggle Bus Coaching into something even better.

The first big step was becoming a Certified ADHD Coach. That certification was more than just a piece of paper; it completely shifted the way I see ADHD and the struggles that come with it. From my very first class, I started connecting the dots in a way I hadn’t before. I realized that while I was already skilled at helping my clients take action, I was missing the ability to help them truly understand their own brains—to replace frustration with self-compassion and self-doubt with real strategies that actually work.

So many of my clients come to me feeling defeated. They want to move forward, but no matter how hard they try, they feel like they’re constantly falling behind. They compare themselves to friends, family members, or coworkers who seem to accomplish things effortlessly, and they wonder why they can’t do the same. And for years, they’ve been told to just "try harder," as if effort alone could override the way their brain is wired.

But ADHD isn’t a lack of effort. It’s a difference in how the brain works. Understanding that changed everything for me, and more importantly, it has changed everything for my clients. Now, instead of trying to force themselves into systems that weren’t built for them, they’re learning to work with their brains instead of against them. They’re setting goals that actually make sense for the way they think. They’re building routines that stick. They’re making progress, and for the first time in a long time, they feel hopeful.

As I started seeing these shifts, I kept hearing the same thing over and over:

"I wish I had understood this earlier in life. Things could have been so different."

That hit me hard. What if I could help teenagers understand their ADHD before years of frustration and self-doubt took their toll? What if parents had the knowledge they needed to support their kids in a way that truly helped?

That’s when I decided to take things a step further and earn a certification in adolescent coaching. This has been a game-changer, both professionally and personally. Now, I can help teenagers develop the executive function skills that so many adults wish they had learned sooner. I can show them how to structure their time, set goals that actually work for their brains, and find success in a way that feels possible. And for parents, I can help bridge the gap—giving them a better understanding of how their child’s brain works and helping them to develop systems to support them with more grace and less frustration.

At the same time, I’ve also been working as a contract coach for a career transition program, helping professionals who have lost their jobs due to company restructuring. It’s been a deeply rewarding experience, guiding people through uncertainty, helping them process the emotions that come with unexpected change, and supporting them as they figure out what’s next. And in many ways, this work ties right back into ADHD coaching—because whether it’s career shifts, life transitions, or day-to-day struggles, learning how to move forward through uncertainty is a skill everyone needs.

So yes, I’ve been quiet—but I’ve been busy. Struggle Bus Coaching has been getting a serious tune-up, and I am so excited to get back on the road.

If you’ve been struggling with feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated that nothing seems to work the way it "should," I see you. I’ve been there. And I’d love to help.

I’m here for adults who are tired of spinning their wheels. I’m here for teenagers who need support but don’t know where to start. I’m here for parents who love their kids fiercely but feel lost when it comes to helping them thrive.

And if you’re ready to move forward, I’d love to be your co-pilot. You can book a complimentary boarding pass session to see what working together would look like. And if you know someone who might need this kind of support, please share my website (www.strugglebuscoaching.com)—it would mean the world to me.

I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes us.

All my love and appreciation,
Kim
